The basement inside 622-44
The name full of sweet and sorrow
Whether you had to leave or start a new dream here
Hope everyone to be happy

This lyrics are the sweetest yet having a hint of sorrows, just like the name Sweet Sorrow. My foremost favorite singer in the whole universe. haha. It is the first time I am talking about a song or a particular video clip. I usually went with the whole album, but this single really hits me straight in the heart. It is never enough to talk about this group only one time. I have made a post of them in here. But, just let me type more about them here, especially in their latest video.

Ahyeondong,

A song about how they started. It was back 10 years ago, under the basement created an album titled the same; Sweet Sorrow. It was not a huge success. But, still they were there diligently worked on their own until now, ten years from then, still around and loved by so many. They have definitely touched many hearts by their sweet yet sorrow harmony. They were just 4 college students who happened to be in love with singing in harmony. They are who they are now because their powerful and beautiful voices. Four of them can be sounded as the whole orchestra

Sweet Sorrow, Kim Yung Woo, Song Woo Jin, Sung Jung Hwan, In Ho Jin

Second album’s hit ‘I love You’ has made them to be known more, and then they became the radio DJ for 1010 club. It was a huge success. Their third album called VIVA was my favorite! Cheerful tone with a hint of jazzy piano and fun things.

Coming to this! This very song is just the most beautiful yet the simplest tunes that they have ever made. This particular song presents their identity as the sweet yet sorrow. Things are being that way. Happiness and Sadness are tagging along.  The lyrics are just so beautiful, albeit the sad  memories come along with it. Simplicity just speaks louder.

Ahyeondong – Sweet Sorrow

After class, get on a bus
The next stop is Gullebang-bridge
Passing over the crowded market then the familiar smell of a street

Never seen any persimmon tree,
but very fragrant name, persimmon valley street
A faded poster in Video City
What was the movie?

Suddenly feel little hungry so send text messages
Put your hands up if you want to have a cup noodle
Let’s go to the Mambo mart
Take 4 chopsticks

Through the small gap of the window of a semi-basement
melodies came out every night but elders were so generous
the warm village like them

The basement inside 622-44
Our name which is gone now
If you had to leave, If you had a new dream
Hope everyone to be happy

Involuntarily in the shower singing along one measure of our song
That grade 12 student at the owner’s house
I was sorry at that time
hope you now became a good adult

When the toilet is frozen in winter
We went to the gas station across the road
When we went to Haenghwa-sauna where only few customers came
We enjoyed swimming

The little street silently Embracing immature strangers
is now gone without a trace
The life is running

The basement inside 622-44
Our name which is gone now
If you had to leave, If you had a new dream
Hope everyone to be happy

When I miss something it always feels like I’m little late

The basement inside 622-44
The name full of sweet sorrow
If you had to leave, If you had a new dream
Hope everyone to be happy

The name full of sweet sorrow
If you had to leave, If you had a new dream
Hope everyone to be happy

Hope everyone to be happy

Thank you Sweet Sorrow for giving K-Pop so much more. You  are the one that have made me realize that K-pop is beyond those skinny skirt girls and funky hair boys bands. The four of you just show up humbly and singing sincerely. I hope you are too, to be happy….

Happy 10th anniversary 🙂

Love
